Boxercise Bromsgrove FAQ
Frequently asked questions about our Boxercise™ classes and the benefits of Boxercise™.
I’m concerned about coming on my own.
You’ll be made very welcome and get some personal attention from Chris or Sharron in your first class. Our regulars are a mixed group of men and women of all ages and levels of fitness. We strive to maintain a fun atmosphere at all times to make sure everyone enjoys their class.
Will I get fit?
If you attend regularly and follow our instruction then you can expect to get fitter then you are now. Boxercise™ uses a mixture of strength and cardio-vascular exercises that will improve general fitness over time. We also carry out a regular fit test so that you can assess your own improvement over time.
Will I tone up?
We use all sorts of exercises in our Boxercise™ classes that will promote toned muscle over your whole body. Although the main boxing moves are largely upper body based we also mix in a variety of different moves that work the legs and torso.
Will I get stronger?
Attending our class on a regular basis will expose you to strength based exercises targeting the arms, shoulders, chest, torso and legs. The more you do the exercises the better you get at them and the stronger you will become.
Will I lose weight?
Our Boxercise classes always incorporate some elements of fat burning cardio-vascular exercise. This combined with sensible eating habits can accelerate weight loss over a period of time.
What should I wear?
Comfortable sports-wear and trainers will do. If you get particularly warm during exercise or intend to work very hard then shorts and t-shirt is good but remember to bring something warm to wear after the class. Long gym trousers are also perfectly suitable if you prefer to stay warmer during your class.
Do I need gloves and pads?
No. We provide you with all the equipment you need. Of course you are welcome to bring your own if you want to.
Will I get hit or have to fight?
No! Boxercise™ is an exercise class not a boxing club or martial arts class. You will be asked to partner up and wear pads for someone else to hit during the class and this is perfectly safe to do. When you are wearing the gloves you’ll be working with a partner holding pads for you to work against. (You may sometimes want to hit Chris though, his sense of humour is awful – Sharron)
